Twenty years ago we introduced Visual Staff Scheduler Pro (VSS Pro). Since then we’ve also added a Premier edition, as well as an online staff scheduler. All three programs offer the same core functions and benefits:

With three different, but similar, programs it can be difficult to choose. Two main differences is the way shift assignments are communicated to employees and they way the programs are purchased.
What is the Difference Between Pro and Premier?
VSS Pro has a robust reporting tool. Managers have the flexibility to add as little or as much information to the schedule as they wish. They can use the exact same scheduling information in multiple ways with just a few clicks of the mouse. Printing or emailing reports is an easy and fast way to communicate shift schedules to their staff.
Visual Staff Scheduler Premier (VSS Premier) was created with larger organizations in mind. VSS Premier’s enterprise reporting tool combines information from multiple schedule files into one master report. In addition to daily and weekly schedules, VSS Premier also shows time off, hourly coverage, and estimated cost reports for an entire organization.
Since VSS Pro and VSS Premier are PC-based programs, organizations can simply pay the one-time license cost. The organizations purchasing PC-based software store their own data. VSS Pro starts at $495 for a single-user license and VSS Premier starts at $695.
PC-based Versus Online Employee Scheduling Software
Ten years ago we introduced ScheduleAnywhere, an online employee scheduling program. ScheduleAnywhere is scalable and can easily be used for large organizations, as well as small ones. In addition to assigning shifts and managing work schedules, ScheduleAnywhere gives employees easy access to their schedule from any device with an internet connection and let’s them log in to make time off and scheduling requests. ScheduleAnywhere is a Software as a Service (SaaS) program, so organizations using ScheduleAnywhere pay a monthly, quarterly, or annual fee that is based on the number of employees in the schedule. They do not have to worry about backing up data.
